Glory is a movie about one 23 years old guy name Robert Gould Shaw, he was born in the rich family and his father was quite powerful.

Robert was a captain in the US. force. He servived from the war between the states. Then after that he had got an order to gather the colour people to be trained to be a soldier.
Well actually this movie is talking about black people that at that time around year 1862 in the movie. Black people had no choice to be with the white people, they could only be slaves. And the black people that has trained to be soldiers were the group of people who were looking for freedom and some other things which is not being slave. They wanted their families and other black people to get the freedom. In the battle they were so ready to fight and they did so well.

This guy he was the one of black people in the movie. He didn't have a good attitude with white people who look down and not fair to black people. He was quite rude tho but finally he realized something that Robert was not like what he had thought.

After the movie I felt so sorry for the black people in the movie and in reality at the past time. Black people were so poor and they had no choice of being black. It was such an awful moment of black people.
And what I could see in the movie at that time was again pople in US. they didn't really afraid to die. They were just doing it because of their own freedom. And "this is how the movie called Glory, it means the Glory of black people"

What CD are you listening to? Who is the artist and what are the names of the songs? Who wrote them? I'd be interested in what songs you find, not in your iPod.

This is a good movie. You have a picture of African Americans who are wearing uniforms. Did this Black Brigade change any of the "White People's" opinion of the Black Man as a soldier.

We still have a lot of prejudices, when it comes to Blacks. We had a well known person, who said that "Blacks are one standard deviation dumber than Whites." Of course he didn't test Cosby, and the millions of other successful African Americans in our society.

I liked this movie.

As I told you in class, Ms. Tori, you are doing exactly as I hoped. You are using your own thoughts and words to express what you are watching. Continue at this pace and you will be happy at the end.

You are not a racist. Come on. Why did you tell me you were a racist? Your comments prove that you are not.

Glory is considered by most critics to be the most realistic and thus best movie depicting the Civl War. The events in the movie were real and the names were real people. This was the first all black regiment. Check out the document that sets up this all black unit. You have it in your text book.

IN reality, the battle at the end was insignificant from the overall view of the Civil War. It simply did not make any difference one way or the other. Of course, it was important for those who fought and died there but it is considered to be a minor battle.

I think the final battle scene and the results speaks loud and clear what this battle meant to the blacks and everyone involved with this group of soldiers. IT was all positive for sure! Who changed his mind about the blacks ability to fight during the movie?

OH, I forgot. You have to listen to the CD I gave you and express some opinions about each type.

Sorry, but you will have to comment. Not fair if you do not. This is an American culture class and the music is definitely part of the culture.

See if you like any of the songs from the Civil War. Try to understand the Blues music. If you want you can get the lyrics to all this music from the internet. Blog the music so okharpman can give you some more information on what you are listening to.
